Privacy policy
The short version: we collect what the product needs to work, we use one essential cookie, we run no trackers, and we do not sell your information. The long version follows.
Effective September 5, 2026.
Who we are
UptickIQ is operated by ByteBunny, LLC ("we," "us"), a limited liability company in South Carolina, United States. This policy explains what information we collect when you use uptickiq.com, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We have tried to write it the way we write everything else: plainly.
What we collect
- Your email address. Required to run a scan, and used as your account identity if you create one. It ties your scans and purchases to you.
- Account credentials. If you create an account, your password is stored and verified by Amazon Cognito (AWS). We never see or store your password ourselves.
- The scans you run. The website addresses you submit, the reports we generate about them, and any head-to-head comparisons. These are kept so you can come back to them.
- Purchase records. When you buy a report, payment is handled by our checkout provider and their payment processor (Stripe). We receive confirmation of what was purchased and the email used — never your card number.
- Support messages. If you email support@uptickiq.com, we keep the correspondence.
- Operational logs. Basic request information (such as timestamps, the email used, and connection details) kept briefly to run the service, enforce rate limits, and prevent abuse.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information, and we never have.
- We do not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics cookies.
- We do not send marketing email to the address you scan with. The email is used to deliver what you asked for.
Cookies and local storage
We set one cookie: a session cookie that keeps you signed in. It is essential to the service, is not used for tracking, and expires after 30 days. Your color-theme preference is kept in your own browser's local storage and never leaves it. Because we use no advertising or analytics cookies, there is no cookie banner — there is nothing to consent to.
About the data in reports
Reports contain information gathered from publicly available sources: the website you asked us to scan, public search results, public business listings and reviews, public advertising transparency records, and public link indexes. This is information about websites and businesses, gathered the same way anyone with a browser could gather it — our tool just does it faster and organizes it.
Service providers we rely on
We use a small number of providers to run UptickIQ, each receiving only what it needs to do its job:
- Amazon Web Services — hosting, authentication (Cognito), and email delivery.
- NanoCart and Stripe — checkout and payment processing.
- DataForSEO and Google — the public search, maps, business-listing, and page-speed data that powers reports.
- Anthropic — the AI that turns measured data into written analysis. Under our agreement, data sent to it is not used to train AI models.
If you connect Google Search Console (optional), we request read-only access, use it solely to include your own search data in your reports, and you can revoke it at any time from your Google account.
How long we keep things
Scans and reports are kept so you can return to them. Operational logs are kept briefly. If you want your data gone, email support@uptickiq.com from the address on the account and we will delete your account, scans, and associated records, except what we must keep for tax and accounting purposes (purchase records).
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — all by emailing support@uptickiq.com. We answer within one business day and don't make you jump through hoops. Depending on where you live (for example, California or the European Union), some of these rights are also guaranteed to you by law; we honor them regardless of where you live.
Children
UptickIQ is a business tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the effective date at the top and, for significant changes, note it on the site. We will never quietly change it to start selling your data — that is a permanent commitment, not a version of this document.
